As I promised earlier, here is another snippet from ‘Dancing With the Darkness’.
Be gentle with yourself.
You are not the person you were before. Spirit has forced
you to stop for a reason. Healing requires that you be
gentle with yourself and allow yourself the time to heal.
You do not have this illness because you are in
some way defective. You are not a bad person.
This illness has a purpose – to teach you
something, to give you wisdom and compassion,
to create change in your life.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this journey with me during Perinatal Mental Health Week. There’s an old proverb I believe – “It takes a village to raise a child”. We aren’t wired to do it alone. If you are struggling, reach out for support. If you see someone else struggling, offer support.
I hope the book brings you light!
